| LUXURIOUS LASHES by Karen Laine | | Today, there are so many options for replenishing and achieving long lashes. There's Latisse, Rapid Lash, RevitaLash and a myriad of other miracle serums and services that help you achieve the lashes you've always wanted. Most of them are miracles, but we do have our favorites. We have fallen in love with Rapid Lash because;
It Works! It's Affordable! (Usually around $50) There's Less Irritation! It produces beautiful lashes and brows.
Rapid Lash's innovative formula helps thicken the appearance of and improve the condition of your lashes and brows. The powerful polypeptides improve the strength of hair, provide effective protection against breakage and naturally support stronger more voluminous lashes. Vital proteins and vitamins help replenish and fortify lashes & brows. Latisse works very well and works faster than Rapid Lash but at 3 times the cost ($150 + a Doctors office visit) for a 30 day supply! I'll settle for a 30-45 day wait with Rapid Lash.
Eyelash extensions and synthetic lashes are becoming very popular and can provide a luxurious immediate result! However, there are a lot of folks incorporating this service into their arsenal. They are not all equal, and objective information is very hard to come by. We interviewed Melissa Fioravanti with the Center of Attention, because Melissa is a certified Esthetician, certified by E'lan Eyelash Extensions, and trained and apprenticed under an advanced Novalash artist, and an advanced Xtreme lash artist. She has done over 1,000 sets of lashes. We wanted to understand how we can get the best results for an affordable price, and what to be aware of. She recommends the following; it is extremely important to apply one extension to one natural lash, one at a time, because your lashes grow and shed at different rates. If this is not done properly your lashes will not look natural. They will look like they've been weaved together, and you will have a lot of cross linking. Strips of lashes are a BAD idea, because they are glued to the skin, and you should NEVER put glue on the skin. The glue actually goes on the lash. Also, ask about the type of adhesive being used. Make absolutely sure it is surgical grade! Many adhesives contain formaldehyde, and many places even use nail adhesives for lash applications. According to the Dept. of Health and Human Services, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry these substances can cause dermatitis and even blindness when used around eyes. Again, when trying anything new ask lots of questions! If you have any questions about lash extensions Melissa Fioravanti can be reached at the Center of Attention 512.758.0685. | |
